Lith Printing

This workshop will combine theory and practice, exploring the magic of lith printing with different types of paper and developer dilutions. You will learn about the variables that influence contrast and color in prints, experiencing firsthand how adjustments and techniques affect the final results.

Topics we will cover:

  1. Theoretical introduction to lith printing, with references to specialized literature and great masters of this technique.

  2. Infectious development, a fundamental aspect of lith printing that becomes addictive for those who try it.

  3. Process variables: contrast, color, grain.

  4. How to influence these variables: print exposure, developer dilution (and additives), developer temperature.

  5. Suitable papers for lith printing.

  6. Ideal characteristics of a negative for this technique.

  7. 2nd pass lith.

And plenty of hands-on practice: we will learn by printing and experimenting!
